Shopping in Utah
If you are looking for a great place to shop while visiting Utah, there are many for all tastes and budgets. Most people visit Utah for the great outdoors – skiing , hiking, fishing, off-roading, exploring – but the shopping is great, too! You can find everything from upscale malls to outlets to antiques stores to unique one-of-a-kind shops with charm and character.
There are numerous shopping centers throughout Utah. Starting in Northern Utah, some of the most highly recommended shopping can be found in Salt Lake City at The Gateway, The Cottonwood Mall and The Family Center at Midvalley. These shopping centers are all centrally located, easy to find and offer a wide variety of stores and products. Just outside of Salt Lake City in Orem, Utah, visit University Mall for a shopping experience that has something for everyone. In Provo, also just outside of Salt Lake, enjoy Provo Towne Centre or The Shops at Riverwoods – both offering many unique items. If you are in West Jordan, Gardner Village or Jordan Landing Shopping Center both provide numerous choices of great items to purchase for every age and taste. In Ogden, outside of Salt Lake City, the Ogden City Mall has a wide variety of shopping, as does South Towne Center in Sandy, Utah and Fashion Place in Murray, Utah.

Their Ballroom Boutique features everything from “Gourmet Goodies” to collector’s items, candles, gourmet kitchen ware, children’s items and more – all assembled in an original ballroom where marathon dances were once held to the Big Band sounds of the 1930’s. Their greenery restaurant and porches are not to be missed. The restaurant features unique recipes, wonderful wine and ambiance that can’t be beat. The Porches include Posey Porch, with its multitude of flowers, garlands and trees, open from March 1st through August 1st and Paper Porch with an endless selection of wonderful paper goods, party goods, stationary and greeting cards, open all year long. Christmas Porch is stunning and features Christmas ornaments, garlands, tree toppers and more. The entire selection is open September 1st through January 1st and the beautiful ornaments and Christmas fantasy scene overlook the stunning Ogden River, creating a Christmas atmosphere which envelopes all who visit.
Another unique store offering everything – and we mean everything - outdoors is Cabela’s located in Lehi, in Northern Utah. Cabela’s offers tons of quality camping, hunting, fishing, sports and every kind of outdoor clothing and equipment available at excellent prices – especially when items are on sale or clearance. It is not only the merchandise that makes Cabela’s so enticing, it is also the setting. Even though you are inside, you feel like you are in the open outdoors, surrounded by animals in natural habitat including mountain lions, raccoons, dear, elk, buffalo and more. It has been said by many shoppers that they could spend a week browsing through Cabela’s and still not be ready to leave.
Besides being a wonderful ski and recreation attraction, Park City is a wonderful place to shop. Main Street resembles a quaint picture postcard, with shops, boutiques and galleries that offer everything from the latest fashions and designer collections for every occasion to children’s stores to funky teen shops plus sporting goods and apparel. Art is present and prevalent here, and the unique array of galleries host an eclectic selection of original paintings, sculpture, jewelry, engravings and woodwork from professional local artists and many nationally renown artists. The galleries regularly host special exhibits, and it is not unusual to find artists at work or presenting demonstrations when you stop by their galleries.

The Zion Factory Stores in St. George feature name brand merchandise from Eddie Bauer, Mikasa, Dress Barn, Polo Ralph Lauren, Levi’s and more, at incredible prices. The Promenade at Red Cliff across from The Zion Factory Stores features an exciting variety of stores, specialty shops and boutiques. The St. George Commercial Center on Bluff Street also offers many stores and historical monuments and buildings. In addition, St. George’s Historical District features many shops, boutiques and galleries with unique crafts, antiques and gifts.
