Utah State Parks

Utah is well known for its National Parks, like Zion National Park and Arches National Park, but Utah also boasts 42 State parks. Utah State Parks offer a wide range of outdoor activities, and like the well known National Parks , state parks in Utah also offer spectacular scenery only found in the great state of Utah.
If off road vehicles are what you are looking for, try riding your ATV across the beautiful sand of the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park , located in Southern Utah. You will be surrounded by blue sky and rust colored sand, bordered by red cliffs and Juniper trees. In Northern Utah, you can get your off road kicks at the Jordan River OHV Park and Modelport. This park offers 4 different tracks and is open from April to November. There is also a model airplane park at this location.
Is Golf what you are looking for? There are 4 golf courses operated by Utah State Parks. Two of the courses are located in the Wasatch Mountain State Park. The courses are at an elevation of 6000 feet, which provides for cooler temperatures in the hot summer months. These courses are located in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains, the scenery is unbelievable and the courses were given 4.5 stars out of 5 by Golf Digest. In Central Utah, you can golf at Palisades State Park Golf Course. This golf course has many large trees and offers spectacular mountain views and views of Palisades reservoir. The Palisades course is challenging and fun for all levels of golfers. 2 other courses not to miss are Green River State Park Golf Course, located in Green River Utah, and the Gold and Silver courses, located in the Wasatch Mountain State Park, near Park City and Midway Utah.

Boating is another fun activity for the whole family. There are many State Parks within Utah that offer excellent boating. Located in the red rocks of Southern Utah, you will find 3 state parks that offer boating. Sand Hollow State Park, Quail Creek State Park, and Gunlock State Park are all located within minutes of St George Utah. In the hot summer months, you may want to try Willard Bay State Park or Rockport State Park. From the northern part of the state to the southern part of the state, and everywhere in between, there are many different reservoirs and lakes for your boating enjoyment.
The trail system in Utah, both in state parks and trails outside of the state park system, is vast. Hiking trails, Mountain Biking trails, Snowmobile areas and Horseback riding trails can be found all over the State of Utah.
